Threads shadowban and reach drops
What Threads actually restricts accounts for — and why the speed of your actions hurts you more than the number of them.
Links in posts cut your reach
Threads pushes down posts that look like advertising. In practice the difference between the same post with and without a link is not a few percent — it is several times over. Put the link in a reply under your own post, or in your bio, and keep the post itself clean.
An even rhythm is the giveaway
No human sends a reply exactly every forty seconds around the clock. Anti-fraud systems do not catch the volume of actions, they catch the regularity. Uneven gaps and pauses matter more than staying under some magic daily number.
Template replies
"Great post!" under a hundred different threads is the fastest way to get limited. A reply has to be about the thing that was actually said. This is the single most common reason accounts using automation get restricted.
Safe mode
The extension has a mode that keeps activity inside a human pace: irregular intervals, daily caps, quiet hours at night. It is slower on purpose. An account that grows for six months beats one that gets limited in the third week.
If your reach already dropped
Stop all automated activity for a few days, post by hand and reply in other people's threads. Shadow limits usually lift on their own once the behaviour looks human again. Deleting the account and starting over is almost always the wrong move — age and history are assets.
FAQ
Can Threads ban me for using an extension?
Threads reacts to a behaviour pattern, not to the existence of an extension. The risk comes from machine-like pacing, identical text and bursts of activity — which is why safe mode exists and why it is on by default.
What is a shadowban exactly?
The account still works, but posts are barely shown outside your own followers. There is no formal notification. The usual tell is reach collapsing while the number of followers stays the same.
How many replies a day are safe?
There is no universal number: the threshold depends on the age and history of the account. For a new profile, a sensible start is a few dozen actions a day, increasing gradually over weeks.
Do I have to give you my password?
No. The extension works inside your browser in your own session. It never asks for a login or a password.
